My baby is sick, can I do an adoption in Arizona?
Yes, you can make an adoption plan for a sick, special needs, or medically fragile child in Arizona. Your child’s health status does not disqualify you from being able to make the decision that you feel is right for your child - parenting or doing an adoption.
During this process you retain all the same rights as any expectant or birth parent would.
What’s different? Depending on your child’s medical condition(s) or needs we may seek families that have specialized skills or the ability to attend many medical appointments to gain the needed skills to care take for your child in an informed manner.
What stays the same?
You can still select the adoptive family.
You choose the type of adoption - open, semi-open, or closed.
You can change your mind prior to signing your consent to adoption.
You can access all Starr Adoption Services available to a birth/expectant parent,
You have your own legal representation for your adoption.
