I’ve Delivered.

Can I still make an adoption plan?

You may feel happy, overwhelmed, scared, uncertain, or even surprised by how differently you feel now that your baby is here.

You may be thinking, “I'm not ready to parent,” “I can't afford another baby,” or “I don't know if I can do this on my own.”

Whatever you're feeling, you deserve a safe place to talk about it without judgment.

Your Emotions Are Valid

How you are feeling in this moment is valid. Your emotions are not selfish, but rather you taking your time to ensure that the decision you make is consistent with what you this is best.

The realities of parenting may be something that you feel that you not prepared for, the timing simply isn’t right for you at this time. Some mothers may be facing raising a child alone, and do not want to be a single parent. The addition of another child may be financially out of reach at this time.

We are here to let you know that whatever you are feeling, those are your feelings and you are entitled to those. It can be hard to process your OWN emotions when family and friends are saying “I’m a single parent and it’s fine” or “it’ll be fine, he’ll just have to work a second job”. You can be proud of your friends and family for doing those things and not desire that for your own life.

You Don’t Have To Do This Alone

Take A Moment to Explore Your Options

f you weren't expecting your pregnancy or you're feeling overwhelmed after delivery, it can be difficult to see what parenting might realistically look like.

Before making a decision, it may help to think through your finances, work situation, childcare, and the people who could support you.

Think About Your Support System

  • Who could help you with childcare?

  • How much help could they realistically provide?

  • Could you and your partner adjust work schedules?

  • Is the help temporary or ongoing?

  • Do you feel safe and comfortable relying on these people?

You Can Still Reach Out If…

  • You've already given birth.

  • You've already taken your baby home.

  • You're unsure whether adoption is right for you.

  • Your family doesn't support your decision.

  • The baby's father isn't involved.

  • You don't know what you want yet.

  • You simply have questions.

“You just gave birth. You're overwhelmed. You don't know what to do. Take a breath. Talk to us. We'll help you understand your options, and you get to decide.”
