Experiencing An Unplanned Pregnancy, You’ve Got Options

  1. Parent Your Child: An unplanned or untimely pregnancy may be challenging, but you can begin to make a plan to help you be prepared to parent when baby is born. Researching daycares, speaking with the other parent about co-parenting, looking at natural supports in your community, etc. can all help to build a system that promotes your ability to parent the child.

  2. Explore Foster Care or Guardianship: This is a solution that can be temporary, but has the ability to become permanent if needed. In this option you will no longer have the primary decision making, but is an option for some situations.

    1. Explore Adoption: This option allows for you to select the family, the type of adoption, your birth plan, and have legal counsel to represent you. Calling or texting a Starr Adoption Options Counselor allows you to explore all three of these options without pressure.
