Creating A Hospital Plan
A hospital plan is a document created to communicate your desires related to the labor, delivery, birth, and hospital stay are relayed to all parties involved.
Your hospital plan is a great way to outline your wants and needs to nurses, doctors, social workers, the adoptive family, and etc.
When creating your plan here are a few things to think about to get you started:
Who do you want in the room with you at the hospital? And at what times in the process do you want them in your room?
What kind of an adoption are you planning to have?
Do you want the adoptive parents to be part of your birthing process?
Do you plan to have an epidural? Or would you like to attempt a natural birth?
Do you have allergies?
Would you like pictures or a video taken of the delivery?
Do you want baby placed on you after delivery?
Do you want to hold baby?
Would you like to spend alone time with the baby?
Do you want to share care of the baby with the adoptive family?
Adoption Plans are not written in stone, you can adjust your desires in the moment. They are simply meant to provide an initial guide to everyone involved & to respect your wishes. Need help creating a hospital plan contact us at 480.519.4393
