Using and Pregnant, Can I still do an adoption?

If you are using and pregnant Starr Adoption Services can help you with a private adoption plan. Many mothers worry that struggling with addiction prevents them from having options for their pregnancy, but that is untrue. Expectant parents who are actively using or have used during the pregnancy can still pick adoption as an option for their child.

Expectant parents who are using substances can still request an open adoption for their child, allowing for continued contact. Additionally, you can select the adoptive family that you would like to adopt the child, and you can receive support during & after your pregnancy.

Our Starr Options Counselor will meet with you where you are. We offer support without judgement and advocate for you. While DCS can be a factor in your adoption, Starr Adoption Services is able to work with DCS to help prevent removal and move YOUR private adoption plan forward. Reach out today to discuss your options. Addiction does not mean that you do not have options for your child. Our Starr Options Counselors are available to talk.
